We provide respectful and dignified ash scattering services aboard the motor yacht Kin Ship along the beautiful Southern California coastline. Family members and loved ones are invited to gather at sea to honor a life well lived with a personalized farewell in a peaceful ocean setting. Our experienced captain and crew handle every detail with compassion and care, ensuring a meaningful and memorable tribute.

Service Information

• Services are typically scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

• The ceremony and voyage generally last between one and one-and-a-half hours.

• Kin Ship comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests.

The Ceremony

Family and friends will board the Kin Ship at Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro. The ceremony is typically conducted just beyond Angel’s Gate Lighthouse, outside the Port of Los Angeles, where the open waters provide a serene setting for remembrance.

We provide a ceremonial basket for the ashes, beautifully adorned with rose petals. As the ashes are gently committed to the sea, they drift peacefully away while the rose petals remain on the surface, marking the location and creating a lasting and beautiful tribute.

Prior to departure, our captain will consult with the family regarding the details of the ceremony. If desired, he may preside over the service from the bow of Kin Ship and can offer words of remembrance or read a prayer.
